Good evening, I have been looking for a 748 916 996 during the past few weeks. I currently ride an aprilia RSV4 I have found a 748sp and been offered a great deal either part exchanging or buying the 748 out right Now I know that none of the bikes will deliver the power and speed of the rsv4 but to be honest I don't use it. I ride slow and steady with the occasional second third gear pull.... So i guess I want to know what you're opinions are on the sp. Is it quick enjoyable give you that buzz when you ride it. I had a aprilia rsv mille mk1 , which i enjoyed immensely, around 110 rwhp I believe, I love the noise vibrations and smells of big loud twins. Any advice tips thoughts appreciated, anyone want to do a deal with my rsv4 pm me Anyway, hopefully I'll get my ducati fix soon. Cheers.
The 748 sp is a great little bike, just make sure it has all the right bits like alloy sub frame ,oil cooler and the correct brakes.
the 748 is stacks of fun but has very little midrange (compared to a rsv1000) and don't really get going till 8k they are screamers imho if you'd like that 2nd gear midrange pull like the Rsv i think you'll prefer a 996
I have two 748sp’s and prefer them above my 916’s and even sold my Pani Corse 959 after a ride on the 748sp. It’s almost a two stroke and on the road you can enjoy them without reaching warp speed. Building now a 748R frame with a 749S Testastretta having also a 999S engine available….
