That’s nice, I had a yellow Ts100 and I lusted after the 185.

 

Very jealous, was my first proper bike, loved it.

 

When I was 16, I had a yellow TS50 ER

 

nice, i had a yellow PE185 back in the early 80s or was it a 175? hmm.

Did you have one of those when they came out ?

They look a bit more off-road capable than the previous TS versions, a bit more inspired by the look of the RM motocross bikes.

At school I had a very ragged pear shaped TS100 that had been thrashed its whole life. Piston rings broke apart and the barrel had to be rebored. Mate crashed it into a low wall - showing off !

 

i didn't keep it long. i never did back in the day. it came as a non runner. the nikasill coating in the barrel was buggered and needed recoated. nobody did it around my way and i was pretty cash strapped back then as was everybody. however i did have a DT175 piston that fitted the Conrod perfectly and was exactly the right length for the porting, the PE must of had a longer stroke. so i persuaded the local engineering shop to bore the barrel out to fit it. with a lil extra oil in the fuel tank it ran fine for the month or so i Kept it. i used it for commuting and thrashing around the woods. the fella that bought it knew the story and was happy to take it. god knows how long it lasted after that.

 

First motorbike I ever rode was an RM80

 

Mine was blue and I think, a 1981 W reg. ... Just to have a bit of independence...great times

 

There's some big a aging prices for these when you start looking. Nice thing though, i can see smiles per miles.

I had same at 13, TS 100 about a year later.

 

Nice - my very first bike was a red TS100ER.

 

Same here - slow as hell compared to dt50, I'm suprised I bought another bike after owning that piece of slow poo lol

 

My first bike was a TS90. I walked into a local mechanic's place last year and he collects them! Much reminiscing about the 70s took place...

 

I went from a DT50 to a Ts50 solely because of the malossi kit that was available for them. It was a complete kit with with barrel,head, carb and exhaust. I remember going to a bike shop in Layton by train from Surrey so my old man wouldn't find out.....Best summer ever.

 

Had a red one of those as my commuting bike, when I lived in Cyprus, early 80's, well the roads were rough there in them days

 

The TS100 nearly killed me plenty of times when the rear brake would get stuck with the pipe coming loose and sitting under it at 50 mph over the local MOD whoops
