Reassembling a 91 model SS, there is a bulky brake light switch which is actually screwed into the rear brake master cylinder. On other models I've seen, there is a different type of switch connection from behind the hanger itself, onto the rear brake pedal. Is this a quirk among earlier models? Why was it designed this way?
You'll find that the early ones have a different hanger for the footpegs too, with nowhere to mount the switch
Does anyone out there have a 1991 SS with exactly the same brake pedal hanger setup as this? What I'm interested in, is what exactly the spring looks like which goes around the actual lever (2nd pic). The spring I have just does not seem compatible in any way, but is ok for the later style hanger (92 onwards). Been searching for a diagram/parts list but can't find anything relevant.
