  1. Hello everyone
I am calling on the wise men of this forum, as I need some information. I am looking for a heel guard kit for the footpegs of my 996 sps. Below are photos of 2 models, the first one can be easily found, but the second model, I am not able to locate, does anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks, best regards.

  2. The first set is the set that I have in my own bikes along with the 998 style exhaust protector. The second set I have never seen before and they must be either a cut down set or a non original Ducati part.

The first set was available via Ducati and other manufacturers quite some time ago.

  3. Yes, it is possible that it is something homemade, but the images are of 2 different motorcycles.

  4. The heat shield is from a 998 as I have exactly the same setup on my 998. The originals were coated stainless steel.

Here's my other bike with the same setup as my 998 although this is a 748S frame with a 748R engine fitted.

  5. The original heat shield on the SPS is longer and would need the wiggly heel plate.
I have a set of 998 cans on mine so I have the straight one.
I do have the original termis and std cans but the strap that joins the cans at the rear is broken and I have not got round to replacing it and they will probably need repacking at the same time.

  6. Hello again
After some research, I have located the heel guards I was looking for. Yes, it is an original Ducati part (ref. 96938202B). Thanks to all. 20241004_214409.jpg

  7. I see now that these were not meant for the road-going bikes but for the 748/996RS models which explains why I had not seen them before and it looks like they are meant to be used with the racing foldup ergal rearsets.
