  1. If this needs to go in the “Wanted / For Sale” section, then please let me know…

New (to me) 999R (2006) about to land! Lucky, lucky me. Any Ducati Performance parts available that I may want to consider? Forthcoming winter project to strip down and make it proper nice!

    Thanks in advance

  6. A bit cheeky but to anyone reading this, I also know of a lovely subscribed member, who also has a lovely 999R that he is sadly parting with. Please PM me in the unlikely chance that someone else is looking for one.:upyeah:

  9. Just a cheeky question
Did the auction run till the end or did you make an offer he couldn't refuse - just asking for a friend :D

  10. the auction didnt run until the end - i know because it was in my watchlist!

  11. And all the bids were withdrawn

  12. One of the first things I did to my triple R was to fit a new battery,a Yuasa, and a set of upgraded starter cables. This made a noticeable improvement to starting.I also put a foot on the sidestand so that the bike didn't lean over so much when parked.
Here is a gratuitous picture of my garage queen. 999 (3).JPG

  13. Many thanks! Good call for the battery.

When you say “starter cables” are you meaning cables to the starter itself?

    Gratuitous picture is well received
Who’s rearsets have you got on?
Original DP one’s seem to be rare, LighTech don’t manufacture 999 ones anymore. Not sure I like the look of the Spider ones. Possibly Gilles.

And, who can tell me about the front brake calipers? I know Ducati were busy throwing all sorts at bikes at the time, but some have the red Brembo and some don't. Is there any difference?

  14. I believe Exact starter cables or similar are being referred to.

They will improve starting for sure. I have them on my 1098 and they do the job better than the originals.

  15. whats the deal with the wheels? are the standard? mine are black and have a simpler vane design. i have an 04 999r

  16. Aftermarket forged Marchesinis.

  17. The uprated cables are,as RC1 says, are from exact fit. They replace the battery to solenoid, and solenoid to starter motor with a superior uprated replacement. The rear sets are from an American company,California Cycleworks.

  18. The wheels are lightweight forged magnesium Marchesinis.Very nice wheel, but prone to corrosion if you are not careful.

  19. Many thanks!
