Hyper 698 Sumpguard

  1. Anyone tried the Ducati or Evotech sumpguard?
Not sure I like the idea of them attaching to the filter bolts but think both do that. I think Ducati guard looks neater but I like the additional Evotech bit covering the front of engine. Not sure whether there is a requirement for the evotech rad guard rather than whats on?

  2. I fitted the Ducati one to mine, mainly to protect the under side of the engine from stone chips, you will need to get some m6 bolts as the kit supplied is wrong, but it fits well and I think it looks good

  3. Can't believe they managed to provide the wrong screws. I want it for same reason as well as maybe jacking front end of bike up to remove forks.

  5. I personally wouldn’t use it to bear weight as one of the four fixing points is made up of a thin steel bracket attached by two wasted bolts that retain the oil filter cover that looks very sacrificial which looks like I wouldn’t cause a problem to the filter cover but would bend very easy, just my opinion

  6. I've just noticed one of the front fastening locations is off the oil filter bolts. Can't see that being a good idea but there doesn't seem to be anywhere else to fix it to. I'm assuming Ducati are not expecting for the sumpguard to take any abuse and agree not good as a jacking point.
I may have to see if Evotech dream up something better although they don't seem to have an installation video at moment.
