Hello forum members, I have a 2011 Diavel 1200 in a great shape, but the key is 13 years old. I've seen the newer model Multistrada keys and i kinda like the upgrade idea. Has anyone done this before? My Romanian Ducati dealer said that i can try on my own expense... After reading the immo bulletin from Ducati, the Diavel and Multistrada share the same IMMO variant, the HF.
An interesting project. Whilst the bikes share the HF immo system, the hardware of the later bikes differ considerably. My experiments with the bypass code calculation for earlier bikes identified that although the immo systems were listed as identical by Ducati they did not operate identically due to being manufactured by different companies. The only way to find out would be to try to code a newer key fob. Having read the immo bulletin it appears a DDS diagnostic system is required. I do not know if the likes of OBDStar are capable of coding keys to the HF system Good luck and keep us posted.
