  8. This is a Spaggiari replica 750SS bevel, being prepared at great expense by Ray Petty Meccanica for a wealthy client. It will be a concours-level exhibition piece when completed. Which will be in a few weeks.

  9. I’ve always loved the look of a bike stripped right back but this doesn’t do it for me, definitely a case of it’s better with its clothes on.

  10. The inlet stubs don't look correct for a SS?

  11. I know what you mean, it doesn't really have any aesthetic appeal, but it does give an interesting insight into the sheer complexity of modern day motorcycle construction and the fact it has no frame to speak of.

The shape of the sump always fascinates me - does this motor have 'dry sump lubrication'?

  12. The Spaggiaris were essentially specials, with a number of changes from a 750SS greenframe. Ray is doing his best to replicate those changes in this example. He has a very standard 750SS in his workshop for comparison, and also has much information from an authentic Spaggy currently at Made in Italy in Stowmarket. The paint colours have been matched very carefully by Dream Machine of Long Eaton.

  15. Another from South Quay Kings Lynn today, tiny little cobbled street. Can imagine the sailors a few hundred years ago passing through here from the quay to Tuesday market place, bet the cobbles could tell a tale or two!
