Scott Redding In 2025

  1. Just seen this, have to say I’m pleased time will tell if he’s still got it.

  2. I have absolutely no expectation that SR with perform any differently, no matter what he rides. There, I said it :D Andy

  3. So, solo rider for Bonovo on a Ducati - no major surpise, but good to see confirmation.

As you say, Red, we’ll see what he’s got. He’s bottom BMW rider - maybe it’s the bike, but with TR54 being P1, MVDM60 being P6 and (on exactly the same bike) GG31 P9 and 58 points to the better, you’d argue there was a bit of him being the issue. We shall see.

  4. Last chance to show his quality, no doubt he is a class rider but his head is his own worst problem.

  5. Doubt if there will be any issues with a weight penalty.

  6. Do the ducati boys share their data in wsb like they do in MGP?
He might have some more relevant data to go on this time around if so :)

  7. Who on the grid had a weight penalty?

  8. "Despite both Scott Redding and the teams new Ducati being at Jerez today ready for the start of the 2025 season, both rider and bike didn’t leave the garage all day.

It is being reported that there is still a contractual obligation to BMW that hasn’t been satisfied which unfortunately has meant Redding was unable to test the Ducati today nor will he be out tomorrow."

  9. You’d think BMW would have waived it FFS. That’s just daft.

  10. Just my warped mind, I find it highly amusing. SR has historically slaged BMW off for his shit bike, got shown how to do it by TR and now BMW are getting payback. Andy

  11. It’s out of order but it is still funny. Fuckery of the highest order. Didn’t Kawasaki do same with Toprak and Ducati with Rossi?

  12. Didn’t think of that. Touché!

  13. Yamaha did it with Toprak last year wouldn’t let him test the Beemer until the new year.
Worked out well for them I think we can all agree.

  14. I guess contract is contract and in theory they may be being paid until end of the year so eaityrr give money back or wait.

  15. Tbh they are probably waiting for his personal sponsors to cough up. He will probably be paid a good wage but I bet he’s bought money to the team. Their contracts will be until the end of the press season, so in Scott’s case they want the option to make him go to eicma, uk bike show etc through November and don’t want him to be all over the internet riding a Ducati before then. It’s been the same for decades

  16. As far as I am aware, SR’s contract is with BMW not Bonovo/MGM and was for 2 years. Although I‘ve not read anything about the ride next year, I guess BMW have agreed to release SR. Andy

  17. Let’s see what he can do. If he has another ‘mediocre' season, he may struggle to continue in WSB.

  18. tbh personally I’d go a little further and say that unless he has a very strong season he will be done. Going to be a few good MotoGP riders looking for rides next year when KTM pull out or go down to just 2 bikes
