I use my In & Box on my street and race bikes, so will be detaching the battery unit from the street vest and taking it in hand luggage to attach to my suit on the stillage. Easy jet website suggests this is permitted, but it only takes a security operative having a bad day to toss my vital and valuable unit into the bin to ruin my trip. Anyone had a “go, no go” at security with one of these?
Sent an old suit out there thinking I might get the air bag suit in my 33 kgs luggage allowance in January. I think there is a further world of pain about gas cylinders on planes. Anyone know?
It is RST and I will ask them, thank you Andy. Do you think your V4 ride height measuring device will be permitted in hold luggage? Looks like a lethal weapon to me…….
Last I tried gas canisters on a plane I was forced to remove them when the excess baggage was X Rayed along with everyone else who tried. They weren’t allowed in cabin luggage either.
Yes, gas cylinders are problematic. The little CO2 cartridges for pushbike tyre inflation - some airlines allow 2 of the smaller ones in hand luggage, but not the larger ones. You have to persuade the ground security staff even if the airline allows. Said staff don’t always know each airline’s rules. The larger canisters for airbags such as skiers use? Good luck! Ski industry is moving towards electrical inflators rather than gas. No flight issues and can support multiple inflations in quick succession.
