False neutral between 5 and 6 shifting up, no all the time but around 3-4 times on an hours ride, obvs pretty disconcerting as im marching on. I would say i'm around 6-8000 rpm usually, not hanging about. Always on a positive throttle, always between 5th and 6th Tried to be very positive on the shift but nothing seems obvious. Spoken to Ducati, they adjusted the chain but that didn't work, they "advised" that i should be 10000 rpm and over for the QS to work between 5/6, i laughed at them as that would be at lose your licence instantly speed. Do they have a point? I have had plenty of bikes with a QS, never had this issue
Have it regularly on mine. I was told it would get better after running in, 4.5k later it's only slightly better. As said above it would probably be better with a race shift as the change is ok if I concentrate when moving the lever. QS works fine for me 4k up if you are positive. Might treat myself to a race shift for xmas
You don't need to buy anything... Just move the gear selector rod rose joint from the top connection point to the bottom of the Gear lever. Now you are in "race-shift". Click up for 1st... the rest are all down... Takes about 1 mile to get used to it.... And you will never go back I run three bikes in Race and the classic 888 in "normal" and it's completely doable and apart from that first 1 mile to just get the muscle memory working comes very naturally. And if you don't like it, change on a SF is a 10 min job.
Interesting. Ducati sell a kit with a small harness which reverses the action of the quick shift rod. Did you just modify yours?
