I've not ridden her hardly at all this year, no idea why when you come back from a 100 odd miles and feel so fantastic
Thanks. Some folks call the color scheme "bumble bee." It's a 2002 900 Sport that I converted to a SuperSport. SBK fork upgrade, custom exhaust, flywheel delete, velocity stacks, upgraded shock, aluminum swingarm, etc.
Would love to have a wobble round a track on mine , but I doubt it will pass the ever stricter noise tests
Never had a fail (not even close) with ours and used any number of exhausts, all effectively straight through.
I've had my full fairing 750ss for around six years but I also like the look of the nuda. I was lucky to recently find an early one at a price I liked so now have a Duke and a Duchess.
Not had the baby 600ss running for about 3 months, after a bit of faffing and plug cleaning she eventually fired up and then after a short while on both cylinders , happy days . I won't leave it so long next time .
I’ll offer a kidney and two bags of Wotsits in swapsies for the carbon tank. May I enquire from where you sourced that please?
Ah, it’s only an overlay, which looks nice but doesn’t save any weight. I know that’s probably not much of a consideration for most SS owners, but then their bikes probably don’t look like this…….
It was a big thing for the track bike, which ended up comfortably under 150 kg full of fuel and ready to run. To get to that point, you need to be prepared to accept compromises of practicality against functionality, though I will say, it’s amazing how much you can take out from under the left hand engine cover from an SSie and it still works.
As you can probably tell from the pic, practicality isn’t high on my list of priorities I’m all ears as to what else I can chuck in the skip to reduce its weight even further. Lighter wheels are on the list and I’m currently weighing up (pun intended) the pros of fitting a lightweight lithium battery versus the cons of the whole thing going up in flames as a result. Other than that, there’s not a lot left to throw away!
Well, if you are serious about lightening - Battery, wiring harness, starter motor, starter gears, flywheel, sprag clutch, alternator. All replaced with a Turnigy 20k mAh battery. Running total loss ignition and started on rollers.
Thanks. It’s been a while since I last did anything with this bike as it spent two years in someone else’s ownership and then 18 months in my garage under a tarp, but IIRC, I was also looking into losing a lot of the loom by getting a Motogadget speedo and breakout box. The rest of the bits you mentioned I need to keep, as my “practicality line” is still this side of having to start the bike using a roller!
