I have just spent the last 2 hours reading that brilliant thread, wow real life is so much better than fiction.
Well done to Paul Baleta for riding his 'Treble 8' around at that pace. A set of our adjustable pulleys were inside and possibly helped
What's the deal with going to watch the classic tt? Getting to the TT itself is a major headache in terms of booking crossings and accomodation, but I'm assuming the classic TT would be less well subscribed. Or is it something I'd still have to book well in advance?
I didn't go this year but historically the MGP used to attract abut 40% of the TT attendance figure and it made the Island a much nicer place to go mad on. Ferries are still the same price which is a shame but if you go for about 10 days the price per day doesn't hurt as much. I like the MGP (Classic TT) because of all the other stuff going on and if you just want to watch and aren't worried about riding your bike then flying and using the bus works out miles cheaper. My wife flew back today after going over on Wednesday or Thursday and I think the return ticket cost her just over £100 so that's a bit of a bargain.
I watched the program and it would have been nice if privateers like Paul had been given a bit of recognition.
