Hi! Could anyone please identify these throttle bodies. They were were sold to me as ST2 throttle bodies, also compatible with 900ssie. They do not look the same as the ones I am trying to replace on my troublesome ssie. These have the brown Pico injectors (IWP043) my ssie has green (IW031). My guess is Monster injection? Oh and there doesn't appear to be a pressure regulator??? Many thanks.
Could possibly be monster / SS 800/1000. Fit them and see if they work. If they do, the pico injector gives a nicer atomisation pattern than the green and you can always swap out for a 12 port in the future if you ever wanted to map it after tuning work.
Thanks for the reply Sev, surely if they are for another model the ECU won't read the TPS correctly? The TPS voltages are the same for the ST2 and the 900ssie...even if the ECUs are different.
not if it uses pico injectors Derek. The ST2 right up to MY2002 had the green injector. Same TPS on your SS as the ST2 / 1000SS Grant, according to the online parts fiche. https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ducati-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/28440021A Admittedly, you might need a tps reset, which I think on these may be little more involved than the 5xM and later ECU variants where you plug in and hit the TPS reset button.
With respect to pressure regulator according to the diagram 1000ss has it externally mounted on a hose with a coupling (Item 21), otherwise the same item. So you'd probably need that hose and holder if it wasn't supplied. (item 19 - holder rectifier P/N 83010812A)
ST3 throttle bodies face each other like the superbike throttle bodies to keep the inlet tract short, whereas these ones are sitting side by side like a bank of split carbs (which was a right pain as one had to be downdraft and the other sidedraft)
Monster or super sport 750/900 or ST2. They have adjustable TPS so won’t be off anything that has a software tps reset. They’ll need doing the old fashioned mechanical way to 150mV
