Riv Bearing Equivalences...

  1. Ciou Ducatisti,

Does anyone have, or know of, the modern bearing specs that equate to the old RIV bearing codes?

I guess this question will have been asked previously, but I couldn't find it when seacrching on the forum. Any pointers welcome.

The codes in which I am interested are:
    RIV 3 A, 30-62-16mm * (main bearings)
    RIV O1 A, 17-40-12mm
    RIV 1 A, 20-47-14
    RIV ELL 25, 25-47-12mm
    RIV O1 APL, 17-40-12mm
    RIV 1 APL, 20-47-14mm
    RIV EL 30, 30-55-9mm *(?) (clutch bearings)
    RIV 02 A, 15-35-11mm (FAG 6202, I believe)
RIV 3 AOn, 15-35-11mm * (bottom bebel sleeve gearings, angular contact?)
RIV 02 AJ, 15-35-11mm * (top bevel gear, self aligning?)

Yes, this is a list of the bearings in the small singles! Of course, most will be standard metric types and can be identifed by their sizes, but some will have a more detailed specification, probably those shown with "*".

  2. All the bearings are standard, use a good quality like SKF. The ones with an asterix are probably C3 which have a slightly slacker tolerance to allow a bit for alignment.
    i have built a few :)
