The Rory Simpson performance parts catalogs are also really nice to read through. Every time, gets my head spinning… I have a pdf version of the 1997 edition (see pic below) and the paper version of the 2002. Edit: The paper version I have in from 2000.
It’s about a 130 pages of pure period after market bliss, addressing Tamburinis, Monsters, SSie, STs. Ducati Performance, Febur, Carbon Dream, Marchesini, Brembo, Imola exhausts… Mainly written for the French market, most of the catalog is also translated in English. Rory Simpson is English. He developed his own Ducati shop in the 90’s down in France, near Montpellier and made a name for himself in that era. He tossed it all when Ducati tried to force him to get franchised when they started their stores. Most Ducati enthusiasts in France believe this was a turning point in the Ducati world. The difference between today and « back in the day »
Wow, thanks mate it is very cool. And I somehow managed to find a digital copy. Too big to upload here unfortunately.
That’s Rory Simpson in the black and red Canadian lumberjack shirt, and (young) Peter Clark, in the red mechanic suit. Clark still works on Ducatis, in the Montpellier area. His shop’s called Esprit Ducati. He is still involved in endurance racing (Bol d’Or). https://www.desmo-net.com/ducati-esprit-racing-team-le-preparateur PS: That looks like a brand new 916 SP still in its crate!
