So who will buy a bike next year? Valuations are low across the board and whilst I was a buyer at the start of the year i was a seller (car and bike) towards the end of the year. I wasnt prepared to chop off the 20% or so required to move them on. Keen to hear from anyone that is waiting to pull the trigger
Probably a nearly new Hyper 950SP or a Monster 937 (base plus suspension upgrade) Not sure on timescale yet but April ish. Andy
I don’t think so… I’m in a MASSIVE PCP hole on my Speed Triple 1200RR so just got to ride it out for another 2.5 years and give it back. the two bikes I’m really interested in are: 1) Aprilia RS660 Factory 2) Yamaha R9 but I’m unlikely to pull the trigger on anything for the reasons above, infact I’m still on the fence about maybe selling the other bike
I don’t think I will be buying any bikes next year, the only one I’d be tempted by is the new cb1000sp hornet. A lot of bike for the money.
The UK economy is going off a cliff in 2025 so I imagine there will be some trade and auction bargains. as always with these things, be patient, step away if it gets frothy, there will always be another item round the corner.
I'm not sure. My V4PP will be 3 years old in April, so I'd like to chop it in while it still has some warranty left, but I'm not sure it's worth spending £8-10k on getting a new version of exactly the same bike. As I've hardly ridden it this year, I'm half tempted to get a new Monster SP or another Hyper SP (is there a new one coming?), as I'll be able to swap without spending any money, and either will be fine for the sort of riding I do nowadays.
Nope Apart from funds not allowing after 4 months out of work (I am now thankfully employed), I’m happy with my 1098s and Triumph Scrambler 1200XE. Hankered after a 998 and got close this year with a forum member only to get laid off so that’s sadly on hold.
I hope that a great, used, low priced, low miles Fantic Caballero 500 does not appear at my gaff -whilst hoping that it does. In fact for full disclosure I typed some of this response with my fingers crossed, behind my back...
I was going to order a new Monster SP last month for 2025 but my Ducati dealer offered me a 16 month old one with 1000 miles, they serviced it and added another years warranty, all for £11k. I added the Termi system and a few other bits n bobs and came out the same as a new one. After losing a load of money on my PP I’m starting to think I won’t buy new again..that and I just can’t justify it with minimal mileage these days..
