  4. Christmas Day dining out as usual, next year we’re considering taking a holiday abroad for the festive season.

Spoke to my Son who’s currently considering riding back to the UK from Japan, via the safest route possible which rules out so many routes. That or just come back via Malaysia/Vietnam/Thailand.

  5. Had one bottle of peroni all day yesterday cos I was driving. Didn’t drink when I got home cos I hoped I might get out on the bike this morning but it’s grey and drizzling so it’s pub footy and wishing it was summer so I could run my new boots in

  7. So true.

Used to go skiing for every Christmas for around 25 years.

Mrs wants 4 days in Marrakesh.

  10. Mmmm, As usual for Boxing day breakfast I made Bubble and Squeak with the left over Roasties and Veg from xmas dinner, including Brussels Sprouts.
I always cook far too much xmas day for that very purpose.
I make it a few times during the year, but Boxing day is the one day I can include Sprouts, and eat it with left over Pigs in Blankets.
    Breakfast of the gods.

  11. Not been at Christmas but Marrakesh is fantastic any time of year so can’t see Christmas being any different. It’s better in the cooler months in many ways, especially if you head up to the Atlas Mountains. Daily motorbike hire from £20 from a few places.

  12. Sprouts are lovely, except when my Mom would cook them until they were mushy,
My favourite is sprouts with bacon lardons delicious.

  13. I like both, skiing was more when I was a lot younger and fitter tho and when you didn’t need to sell a kidney for 6 days and pray for some snow.

Much prefer beach holidays as I’ve got older, further away from the uk the better.
Goa, Thai etc… fave probably Sihanoukville in Cambodia.
Slap bang in the middle of gary glitter territory but like the Wild West for *ahem thrill seekers (or was when I was there) and makes UK Xmas a very very very distant thought.

  15. I’ve done 150 miles into Wales and back, heavy fog all the way until near Builth Wells then clear blue skys and sunshine, Glorious! Then back home in even thicker fog.
Washed the bike, put it away and now sitting drinking Snowballs o_O.

  18. Some of those borders are closed, Mongolia he isn’t interested enough to visit. From what we can gather the Azerbaijan/Armenia border is closed. The alternatives are not much better, it
‘s likely going to be a hard pass on that idea.

    More likely he’ll try Malaya/Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos.

  19. A quick walk with the dogs this morning, then 10 for bubble and squeak with left over cold meats for lunch at ours. Just watched Wallace and Gromit and now have an empty house again. The clean up can wait until tomorrow.

  20. Seems sensible. The road trip would be a tough four to six weeks. Touring SE Asia's far more relaxing!
