Hi everyone Taking advantage of these holidays, I have installed the DP carbon cap (ref. 969027AAA) on my 996 sps. It requires patience and a little time to install it. Finally I got it, but when closing the cap, it rubs against the tank breather (n°4) and dislodges it from its place. Has anyone had this problem?? Greetings, pepe
Yes, I have thought about it. But if I cut it, then it will not be high enough to be in contact with the tank cap once closed. Is it possible to remove it? What is its purpose? Thanks
It's there to seal the breather to the cap, you can remove it but if you do fuel will leak into the filler cap area under braking etc. Maybe trim a little off the underside, leaving the tapered top part untouched?
I think it does not seal the tank, it has an internal channel and communicates with a small hole located in the cap.
