Just got the bike out of hibernation and she fired up fine. Left for two weeks and she now idles at 4k but feels like it’s wanting to go higher but being electronically limited. My first thought was contaminated fuel (didn’t completely drain tank) so drained it, added fresh stuff with a bit of injector cleaner for luck but the problem still persists. On one occasion the bike did start and idle correctly but the throttle didn’t work which makes me think it’s an electric problem and not gummed up fuel pump/injectors. Anyone have any ideas? I do have access to melcodiag so hoping it won’t be more than a TPS reset. Meant to be off to almeria end of September. Thanks in advance, Rob
It was either TPS or APS problem that needed resetting. Can't remember which but was a laptop job anyway. Fault was cleared by my garage a month before going to Almeria in April '23. Fired the bike up at the circuit and the issue had returned. Paid €150 for a man to travel up from Almeria to the circuit with the diagnostic tool and was sorted within 15 minutes. The bike performed faultlessly for the next three days but hasn't been started since. Am going to put some fuel in it next weekend as going back in march. I'm pretty confident the problem will be there but want to see if I can simply sort it using melcodiag.
