Never had a problem with DVT after changing belts. Just take the same care you normally do. I do check the live camshaft readings but it's always been OK. Probably make an arse next time I do one now
I do check it before and afterwards (via Texa) but it’s a bit belt & braces. However, as their someone else’s bike I’d rather be 100% right, plus I have the diagnostic tool to do it. I’d recommend getting a crank locking tool though and something to lock the vertical intake cam.
It's about time Ducati had some fun and designed an engine with irrational teeth count ratios, so that, no matter how many times you turn the engine over, the little blobs of tippex that you've excitedly put on the belts never line up to the marks again. There would be diy mechanics sat in their garage for the rest of time, gnashing their teeth, surrounded by cold mugs of tea...."Just one more turn, come on yer bastards, grrr...."
