I have a 2004 Monster S4R for sale. It is one that some of you will already know from the Dead 996 thread started by @Zhed46 quite a while ago. It is a project bike but is mostly complete and the engine runs well. The things that stop it being rideable are: It has no clocks. It runs because the ECU has been reprogrammed to ignore the immobiliser. the brakes need stripped down and serviced the steering head bearings need serviced (there’s no play, I think they just need cleaned and regreased) it needs a new number plate hanger On top of that, you’d definitely want to replace the timing belts. At some point the waterpump packed in and it has had an electric water pump fitted (a common mod apparently). It seems to work OK but is not the prettiest thing. Other than that it could do with a bit of TLC. It had been wrapped, not a great job I have to say, so I removed it. The paintwork underneath is actually pretty good but a couple of smail patches that need touched up and it needs a set of transfers. The bike was given to me as a non-runner for me to sell to raise money for a good cause. Ideally I’d like to get £2000 but am open to offers. The bike is in Dunfermline (that’s Scotland for our international friends) and you are welcome to come and have a look. Here are some pics and a video of it running.
