Ideas and security? This is mine if away on holiday.. makes it a tad harder to wheel out of the garage.
the pic of the wheel made me laugh my friend had his bike nicked and that was what they left its front wheel was chained to a ground anchor with a disk lock attached they just unbolted the front wheel it was a gsxr 750 they even used his tools
at home or if it and about? i wish a few of these YouTubers would do a bit on security when they are in france etc
Almax chain & ground anchor, uncroppable by hand (watch the videos on their website) Helps me sleep at night ;-)
Massive ground anchors and locks, plus alarm, dogs AND alarm mines on the garage door. They fire blank 12g cartridges and are legal and ‘kin loud. Final layer is a baby monitor so if anyone so much as farts in there I know about it. I don’t rely on one layer of security and believe in doing it right first time. It’s saved me in the past.
I consistently do everything that's not a major inconvenience to try and prevent theft. Multiple layers of security. However, if they really want it they'll take it.
Yeah exactly that, make it as hard as possible without making it an hours work to get each bike out so the chancers look and think twice. Anyone serious will cut things off and not care about noise/damage/effort so all you can do for them is slow them down
Unless you live somewhere remote then noise is the biggest deterrent to scumbags. If they can get an easier and quieter theft somewhere they will so it’s about making yours seem too risky/ too much effort. The other obvious one is not leaving stuff on display. The number of times I have driven past places with £30k of bikes drying on the drive and the barge open with no one around is unreal. I open my garage when I take a bike out and close immediately, same on return. For cleaning I move it around the back. Worth the minimal effort it takes. The baby monitor is the best value for me but only works if you are there. Assuming you are then there is no way to defeat it as it will alert you before they even know it’s there and give you the chance to make them seriously regret the decision they made.
Gutted about that, their chains are a boron alloy, uncroppable by hand, the video on the website had a fat bloke jumping up and down on a set of 4' chain croppers until the jaws broke! Obviously no defence against an angle grinder but impressive nonetheless.
