Its 916 S from 1994. They came from factory with the adjustable levers, Ohlins rear shock and a tapered white tail piece.
I'm still trying to figure out the differences, hadn't noticed the seat. I have a confirmation from the factory that the vin matches 1 of 199 built S models. Thanks
That looks like its in very good condition, have you had it restored or is that all original? My engine cases really need refinishing, will have to wait till next winter.
Had it from new but it has had a minor refresh with cases painted and covers cerakoted otherwise as standard.
That would have been a great opportunity hoot if you'd access to unload with that hiab in the background.
Had a short ride round the local lanes yesterday , I hadn't ridden it for years 10 + and I love the thing. it's was £7250 otr in 2002 couldn't stretch to a S at the time.
Beautiful day for a spin, took it out for a 50 mile run on some nice roads here in Lincs, loads of other bikes about and plenty of stationary strategically parked police vehicles too!...enjoyed the ride nevertheless.
I had no idea there was an S version of the 916, despite voraciously reading any and all magazine material about the 916 at the time. I looked it up and Falloon confirmed the existence of an S. Thank you for the history lesson.
