I bought the Scrambler Urban Enduro version lower seat height than the Desert Sled, my partner preferred the spoked wheels and Matt Green paintwork. This has the high level Termi exhaust on, a little over your budget as this version seems to hold its asking price higher than other versions seem. It’s going to be down to what you like with regards to wheels, colour and ‘look’ at the end of the day. I like mine just for pootling around nothing too hectic, I have soft panniers on mine that the one below lacks. Thanks for the info, I'm gonna try and test ride a few , quite drawn to the Urban Motard but possibly more than I want to spend. Spotted a couple of Icon darks that seem nice
Had my 2015 Classic since new and it's a great bike. Excellent for the local / pottering type of ride you mention but I've done longer jaunts on it too and it's been fun on those. Done everything from two-up teashop pootling to track days on it... It's currently at Cornerspeed having a 10th birthday spa-break... missing the little chap. Get one, set your expectations right and you'll have years of fun with it.
