No More Grune Holle

  1. Not been since the 90s when I lived in the Netherlands but it was a bit Wild West in the range of stuff on track at any given time. I am surprised it’s continued this long if I’m honest and separating 2 and 4 wheels will be better for everyone as long as they provide enough slots for each.

  2. Looks like 4 days for bikes on the structured courses. No more turning up and getting a couple of laps in.

I've never had a problem at the 'Ring ... on two wheels or four ... but then I'm just one of millions of customers, and I can certainly understand the potential danger. As we all know, lines and speed through corners is generally very different for cars and bikes, especially at pace, and I'm sure this can come as a surprise to many car drivers at the 'Ring simply because they really aren't that familiar with bikes. In short, I guess bikes and cars on track at the same time don't really mix well ... where else do you see it (?) ... shame the 'Ring authorities haven't opted for having some bike-specific Touristenfahrten sessions instead though :-(

  4. Saw this earlier.......you'd think they'd plump for a "bike only" day to make sure they catered for everyone

  6. Kopie von scrap.JPG Nurburgring2004-1.JPG did many a lap back in the 90's on bikes and it was my entrance in to track bikes etc.. but after being hit at Gelgenkopf and left with 8 weeks in hospital due to broke pelvis etc i can see how the current youtube/insta chaos has led to some thoughts on how to protect the bikes during the mix..

  7. Did a Weds afternoon practice at Mallory back in the early/mid '80s for comp licence holders and they had solos, sidecars and a 2 stroke gocart out all at once. Solos and sidecars together was quite common back then and it could get a bit dodgy, had my first crash on track coming out of the right hander at the end of the back straight at Mallory (on a different day) when the imp engined sidecar in front blew up and dumped its oil.
