  2. So my earlier statement of crankcases needing to be resealed was wrong....in a good way... turns out it was a simple loose sump bolt which i thought was tight and in turn thinking its not had much use since the last oil change it was black as tar so, simple oil change and a new crush washer...lovely....ill even have time to service the clutch as well...

  4. Renewed my subscription, what a horrific 5 mins that was, not the process of subscribing, the 5 mins being a non subscriber! That said the sheer number of attractive mature single women in the Southampton region was quite surprising :joy:

  6. Well yesterday I accepted the full market value on my house and put a reservation fee on my new house in Northumberland.

It should be ready for May time. Maybe.

    :)

  7. T’s & C’s suitably acceptable that you didn’t feel the need for some extra bargaining power then?

  8. Sat in a cafe in Emma Green waiting on a fried breakfast whilst my car gets serviced and MoT'd. The background musak is Country, it's going to be a long morning :joy: Andy

  10. Make the most of it Andy.

I was in a similar situation a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful day.

For the first time in my life I bottled out of doing a Cambelt change on my car, the £12K bill if it went wrong was a little bit of a worry.
I took the day off work, dropped the car in to Petersfield for it to be done, stopped at my favourite café in the square for breakfast, then walked the 7.5 miles home via the bridleways and footpaths over Butser Hill.
Apart from my stop for Coffee at the lovely Queen Elizabeth Country Park Café near my house I didn’t see another soul except the Kites, Buzzards, and a kestrel that appeared to be following me for a while.

I did however get the bus back later in the day.

  11. Yes, very good actually and most of the stuff I would normally have negotiated for is already in the house. That won't stop me for trying to get a couple of grand off on a few other bits I want ;)

  13. They say things come in threes, so the chap that viewed a vehicle on saturday that's up 4 sale wanted but has now pulled out today, the motorcycle i looked at yesterday was ok but not brilliant, but asking the basic question i need to fire it up and see paperwork before i can make a firm decision on price hasn't returned my texts, and now the plumbing i'd last week has very small leak somewhere...........a first for me for years.

So now down in the dumps today.

  14. Car serviced and MoT'd, 15 minutes later got wiped out by an out of control Golf GTi. Driver lost control on a wet bend and aquaplaned at about 50mph into my car. Contact from my front wheel arch, down both off side doors and ripped my off side rear wheel off. I missed going into a ditch by about a foot, the other driver ended up straddling the ditch after sliding sideways up the road for about 30 or 40 yards. No physical injuries but seriously pissed off as you can imagine. And yes, the Golf was travelling towards where I took the photo. Andy
