I have started to get shiny things back on that SSD. Rear brake, with brand new Galfer braided hoses. Cleaned up starter solenoid. And I am almost done with the refurb of the pickups wiring. I decided to preserve the original 4-way connector that I chose to locate up front, away from the vertical exhaust header. Just waiting for some heat proof cable protection to wrap this up. And the battery is waiting, ready for the soon coming series of electrical tests.
Getting there with electrics! I like the way this is coming together. Other good news: I should get my forks and shocks back later this week, all nice and refurbed. Chop chop!
Those rubber inlet manifold spacers always split sooner or later. Keep a spare pair ready for when they do.
Not sure if you have done it already, or are planning to do it, but clean out the sump filter before you bolt in the rear cylinder header pipe....
There's a (21 mm) nut underneath the LHS engine cover. This is a long gauze filter that sits in the sump and is (internally) connected to the oil pump on the other side of the engine. You can get aluminium ones, rather than the OEM plastic, which are a lot more sturdy.
