I am not getting one but I personally think it looks nice without that awful link pipe. I would be tempted if I thought I could manage it but even an upright is going to be painful.
The 1199/899 are still the best looking panigales for me, but I have grown to like the looks of new V4 more than the 2022 and I’m in the market for one in the near future. I don’t like the V2 as much as the old one, I guess that’s due to the old one basically being the 1199 chassis with a few different bits bolted on, the new one looks a bit “underfed” without the underbelly cans
Was out this afternoon on my gixer and popped by Ducati. They had a new V2 there. Immediately impressions were it is better looking in the flesh. The exhaust is dreadful. Sitting on the bike I was struck by the distance between the bars and (what seems like) acres of vertical black plastic either side of the dash. Not great. The bars are wide. The pegs are low. The steering damper has (I think) two bracket mounting bolts for the mid mount but I can’t see where the piston end attaches. Must be an adaption to the bars which will go some way to explaining the additional cost (£500+ for Ohlins). I took a few pics as this might help those who are considering one. I have not booked a test ride yet.

Even if they had used one formed pipe up to the silencers to hide the joins it would have been 50% better! I’ve also got size 10 feet and ride on the balls of my feet and I’m convinced my ankle will just hit the exhaust the whole time
it looks better without it's clothes on, the air box is lovely i had a good look at an f3 rosso and was disappointed, loads of cheap plastics and crappy bolts, not impressed
It certainly does not have the feel of any kind of premium bike which is frankly astonishing given the price. I’ve just clocked the riders footrests too. Compare those to last years V2. Not great.
Parts / finish wise beginning to look like a Jap bike - built to a price.... and as you state too high a price in this case I think.
I remember when the new Monster came out a few years ago. Everyone here was saying that it was crap & 'not a Ducati' because it had no trellis frame... How things have moved on, eh? When will this be the WSSP race bike?
I’m not saying it’s crap. I have zero doubt it will be a brilliant bike to ride. But it’s been built to a budget and a tight one at that.
Here’s the answer to the piston end of the steering damper. Presumably the clip on bars have a suitable mounting built in.
The cat.is almost as bad as the ones on the BM 1000R and RR. No doubt the thinking being,most buyers will replace it so why bother.
I think most will replace it but not with Termi systems. Probably a good aftermarket one when they come along. I don’t mind the Termis on the V2 but I do think styling wise they are starting to look a little like Chinese knockoffs
It’s this Euro 5+ crap so it seems why bikes have these awful cat boxes fitted but even so why didn’t the designers bring that link pipe out behind the swinging arm with a Y piece joining it to the rear cylinder link pipe. According to my local dealer the warranty will be void if anything but the official Termi exhaust is fitted as it includes a remap. I think it’s a case of taking your bike to a dealer who doesn’t mind what exhaust is on it. There is an O2 sensor on each link pipe before the cat and one on the cat itself which will trigger an error code if removed. I am presuming the official Termi has a blanking plug or the remap disables that sensor.
Another first impression from sitting on the bike is it actually feels slightly taller than the previous V2. This is because (I’m sure) the front of the seat is wider than before - to accommodate exhaust routing?
can’t imagine that would be difficult to map them out via the ecu bit leave them in? Many bikes including mine have had this done with zero problems
Saw one today. Pictures don't do the exhaust justice or should I say injustice.It's a shocker. Not just the routing outside the swingarm but the quality also.I'm amazed it's been put into production. Other than that the bike to me looks good. The bars for a supposed sportsbike are very high.No doubt extremely comfortable for road riding. A dumbell type weight weighing the difference between the old V2 and the new one was there for all to lift. Big big difference. I think it will be an excellent road bike.
