Hello everyone, I live in London and I would like to buy the Ducati Hyperstrada 821, year 2014. What do you think? Is it a safe bike? Does it have any issues? Thanks, Mac
The 821 Hypers are lovely bikes. I believe the the 2013 models had issues but 2014 onwards were OK. Someone else on here may have better/ more information.
There is a lot of info across the ducati forums in regards to known issues For that year. you could have starter motor issues, coil issues, a difficult to use clutch, to name the main potential issues. People with a 2013-2014 model have Changed the coils, Replaced the starter motor with a newer model, dense I think it's called And added an anti judder kit or new clutch pack from a different model hyper I have a 15 strada and it appears even i have the older starter motor which I'll be replacing next winter if it lasts that long As @Gandalf has said the 821 is lovely. I love it so much. Such a big smile on my face when I ride it rain or sun If you're worried about those issues, try and find a 15 plate or tally up the cost of the newer parts and do the work yourself. I've read through a good few detailed instructions of all of the main issues being fixed. New starter cables to help with cranking the bike over as well, but that's a ducati thing in general I think
As above - replacing the clutch pack with the one from the later 939 model alleviates the clutch issue. It'll still be grabby when cold, but that only lasts 5 minutes...
hi to everyone, I appreciate your help. do you have any suggestion where I can buy all the parts thanks

There's always a chance the work has already been done on the bike you're looking at. Might be worth asking if it has been done already and for proof. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22582385...12d4nl0rzq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY - starter motor
