It gets progressively slower and slower for the last 6 years of ownership, but all because of everyone else’s fault. And yet the owner screams and shouts at every other newer faster car because they drive dirty but the beloved 46 never cuts anyone up.

 

Tbh - I can never remember his name & had to google him. It is a shame that for all his unique achievement he never got honoured.

 

They didn’t even name a decent corner after him that one at brands is horrible lol

 

Damon Hill won a clubmans championship on bikes before he went into cars. Steve Parrish went on to truck racing wins after the bikes and Barry did a few races too.

 

Regarding official recognition of John Surtees motoring achievements, the UK awarded the following honours:
"Already a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2008 Birthday Honours and a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to motorsport."
