2025 Motogp Round 1 - Buriram Thailand (spoilers)

  1. Rossi jumped ship from the all conquering Honda to a manufacturer who had done nothing for a decade and ended up with the world title in his first year.
Marquez jumped ship from Honda to the dominant manufacturer.
    Big difference.

  2. Rossi was never on a shitter, apart from the Ducati that he couldn’t get the hang of. But he soon jumped ship, fair enough, only Stoner had joy with the Ducati back then, albeit the 800.

Rossi’s mistake was making a powerful enemy of Marquez. It didn’t end well for him (Rossi).

  4. Who can tell for certain how Giacomo Agostini would have dealt with electronics, ride height, wind turbulence, tyre pressure, 10 buttons on the dash?
TBH I see little point to compare Rossi to MM, let alone Giacomo Agostini, Mike Hailwood.

  5. You can't directly compare different eras or machines but suffice to say that they were the very best riders at the time

  7. At least a large majority of people have got what they wanted in a one manufacturer one rider series I suppose.
