  4. Blessed today! Frosty no mud early morning and dry sunny roads from 10am. March has started off nicely.

  11. Over the years I’ve said goodbye to 3 Ridgebacks, I know exactly how you are feeling @Zeus
the void they leave in your life is enormous, take comfort in the fact that you gave him the best life ever while he was here :upyeah:

  12. I didn't want to ask about whether he had been old or ill etc so I searched the forum for your posts about him and I can see that he was both, and that you cared for him with patience and love during that difficult time.

  13. He would have been 12 in May, he’d been having problems with his back legs for months but medication improved things for him and he would still plod about eat, drink and go the loo until a couple of days ago when he couldn’t stand anymore and was out of breath all the time.
I’ve loved all my dogs over the years but Roger was special. I think because all our dogs have always favoured my wife but Roger always favoured me and was so trusting.
I’m 50 years old and burst into tears every time I think about him, daft I know.

  14. No, not daft. You have lost a soul mate and that is hard. Hang in there. Andy

  15. Mate, I’m not ashamed to say that even just thinking about when that day comes for me and Iggy can bring tears to my eyes, so it’s not in the slightest bit daft

  18. Not daft. Anyone that cares for their dogs and has lost one understands how you're feeling. I still mourn my last boy 'Glen', and he passed 15 years ago. Our 3 oldest girls (we have 5) have just 18 months between them, so if they have full lives we're probably going to lose them in quick succession. When the time comes I will be in pieces. But that's the price we pay for their reciprocated love and devotion. We have them around us too briefly, but they stay with us forever. So grieve. It means you had something very special.

  19. I know what you mean, I think about our past 4 dogs everyday. We still have our two girls but Evie is also 12 now so I desperately worry about losing her.

  20. Our day at Crufts tomorrow (Sunday). Anyone going and fancies saying hello? ... Sue (AKA Mrs Biscuit) will be showing our Nell (Calareto Norwegian Wood) in Hall 2 Ring 12. I'll be on the Border Collie 'Discover Dogs' stand :upyeah:
