  1. Guys, what recommendations do you have for a new 12v battery?
Current one that was fitted by Ducati is a 12v 10ah 180a cca

the manual says it should be a 16ah and I’m being told I should aim for as close to 240 cca, as they drain on the start ..

    cheers Jamie

  2. SHIDO LB16AL-A2 (LiFePO4)

Should give you 300 CCA. Calls for a Mosfet r/r though.

  3. Would that be suitable for my 996 ?

I believe so, yes. I have this battery on my 900 SS and on my 851 SP2. Then again, a Mosfet r/r is a better guarantee of a steady voltage delivered to the battery by the charging circuit. Lithium batteries do not like to get over 15 volts… When they do, Lithium-Ion batteries tend to overheat, burn, melt or even explode… LiFePO4 are more stable and self destruct internally instead.

  5. I use a Motobatt, not the lightest but powerful and reliable, had mine many years with no bother.

I'll happily carry a little more weight for something that'll always start it.

  6. Is there a recommended source for MoSFET R/R ?

I personally shop at Carmo Electronics. They are located in the Netherlands (EU). Since you are in Wales, there may be a no tax option available in the UK?
