I was going to buy a set of wheels over there and the seller said... We'll value them at 200 quid then you'll pay the tax on that... At the worst you'll get caught on the tax on the carriage... Ask then see what they say... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
You might have a blown engine but I bet there's a lot of stuff on there that would sell... So that'd offset the cost of the new motor plus its an sp engine so the right engine for the bike thus holding its value... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Also... If youve got the engine out and you could hold on to it... Maybe look out for the spares rebuild and flog it... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Hi - I've just stripped the top cylinder stud bolts out of my 2010 1100 evo monster race bike (during a race) - appears cases have had a overheat issue in previous life. I am now after a replacement set of cases - know of any - many thanks??
Not a clue....facebook and ebay are your friends at this point following that, specialist ducati mechanics/garages/engine builders...
Would inserts not work in this application? If you can it is obviously a load less work to sort it...
Brand spanking new set here.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386803757640?_skw=hypermotard+1100+crankcases&epid=3065630407&itmmeta=01JPMF84TVDAEQDT5QACVJ251D&hash=item5a0f4cf248:g:89sAAOSwvbBl1dEK&itmprp=enc:AQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1eTA++v3r9ADXOdTMGbGPmWAHHxcWqm26hcvTBUuMThe+7Ic4gbDNIFyVVH6tvVkIhb5qEk2qqyM6TB30gUScEFqc32u+f6i1Ow5nFRU7GQz6QrgJS3QNeDC6Jh5lScQCFUxUO1YufAdZzHUseQr8tvHLQRShI6g5c75IeKRuJBhwj939HyDmxEobdzp7H1JTn30Xp6JOQOlWn1vVjwNj0MSvq8WGjSQztd8xNzvMgGUcSG50IFhNykZVeot6WsyZAcwbh2QyuYUXQMHJZhF3sAkwWx2qg92dx49ppIERpGUso3W2V2ktFafFGUkApImi4=|tkp:BFBMys2gj7Vl It does say 2008 so not sure if the evo engines are different..i wouldnt have thought so...my evo sp has got a crank from the S in it...
I would advise caution with this approach. Stepping quietly past the unscrupulous and illegal nature of it, I think it opens you up to a scam / sharp practice where when you have a problem with whatever arrives or is ‘lost in transit’, you can only get the declared value back, and you can’t use small claims as your hands are not clean.
I must say that was almost 10 years ago...that being said, sellers have done that for me and ive not had a problem.
Thanks for reply. There’s less than 2mm of wall thickness to bore so risk is an insert will compromise case and fail. It’s a last resort but at best 50/50 success.
