Just watched 1 and most of 2. It happened to come up first on my tele when I started Netflix. Enjoying it
It was featured on the "Today" program on Radio 4 this morning and in an article in "The Independant". Netflix have really put one over on the BBC and I'm lovin' it! I guess it is not WOKE enough for the BBC?
It’s got worse, no doubt. This series is typical stretched US hero nonsense Last of us was good, mostly. Bar one episode of ‘push the message’ which had nothing to do with the game or the story, rest was worth a watch. Looking forward to S2, let’s hope they don’t wreck it…
Bergerac. Bit too moody. Spotted the twist fairly early and, as many of these modern drama detective series, it makes cops look inept and childish in many ways. Can’t recommend
Worked for me. I did one and two in one sitting and then did three and four last night. The format works for me as I can split it as I want, or binge it all up in one go. Good, powerful stuff . . . . .
From The Independent article . . . . . "What’s so brilliant about this show is how normal and, in many ways, likeable the character (stunningly played by newcomer Owen Cooper) is. While the manosphere conjures up images of violent thugs and misogynists, here the boy accused of murdering his classmate is just like many of our sons, nephews, grandsons, and the children of our friends. Many parents are saying they are too scared to watch. For some, the brutal realisation that this warped hyper-masculine ideology is no longer niche or underground is too terrifying to face. The truth is that this toxic extremism is being spoon-fed into the mainstream minds of normal kids 24/7 – and has been for a while. Only now are we beginning to see the harrowing consequences." From the article in The Independent
What utter bullshit of a review. Warped hyper masculine ideology?! What utter man-hating shite. Same people who write that are the same who will be cowering in their beds hoping brave strong men stand up in times of war or force.
It’s on the list, I haven’t seen it yet, and after that review I’m expecting women and girls to be abused and taped all over the screen while boys shout and holler whoop whoop whoop with people drinking others blood
Watch it. Draw your own conclusions. Nobody tells you what you must think. It is for you to come to your own conclusion. That is why it is so good. Nobody is lecturing.
I will watch it regardless of reviews. They just take raw, human stuff and have to spin shit on it. Does my head in
Agree - that is a BS review. Knife crime, exposure of porn to kids, social media bullying, poor discipline in schools...All the fault of the Andrew Tate and the 'manosphere'
My guilty pleasure is “Married At First Sight” and particularly the Aussie version. You will never see a bigger bunch of idiot, narcissistic, psychopathic, psychotic retards and social misfits ever in your whole life than on that programme. I love it
