Which Ducati models have 17" rims with 5.5" width and fits to Multistrada 1200S MY2011 ? Ducati rims 5.5" width for example: https://www.baboon.eu/en/part/ducati-848-2008-2010-rear-wheel-2010/0000014445087 https://www.baboon.eu/en/part/ducati-monster-1100-evo-2011-2013-rear-wheel-2011/000001583865 https://www.baboon.eu/en/part/ducati-hypermotard-950-2019-rear-wheel-2019/000001650320 Second rim kit for Battlax adventurecross ax41 is the plan....
The 848 and Hypermotard have the smaller diameter rear axle. Not sure about the Multistrada 1100 but expect it to be the same. Andy
Small hub again. I have been trying to think of a singled sided swing arm running a 5.5” rim that would fit the 1200 Multistrada and I can’t come up with one. Andy
Hmmm... are you sure? https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/d...1200-ABS/REAR-WHEEL-HUB--DISC--CHAIN/4/18/0/4 https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ducati-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/819Z0021B
You are looking for a 5.5” rim wheel to fit your Multistrada 1200 ? The Multistrada 1200, Multistrada 1260, Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, 1098, 1198, Panigales 1199, 1299 and V4 all run the same big hub and 6” rim rear wheel. If I remember correctly, the 848, Hyper 950 and Supersport 950 all have the same small hub and 5.5” rim rear wheel that won’t fit the Multistrada 1200. Andy
https://www.ducatisupersport939.net/threads/anyone-know-the-size-of-the-rear-wheel-hub-hole.19267/ "I do not, but it’s the same as the 1098, if that helps. I have 1098 wheels on mine." I'm confused...
Why go for a 5.5 rim when standard is 6? If it’s narrow profile tyre you are after, you can fit different profiles to the wider rim, different brands can be very different: the scorpions feel flat against the Michelins that feel tall and more clickable ime
So far information from this thread: -6 inch wide rim from 1098 fits to Supersport (939 or 950) and Multistrada 1200. So rim offset has to be same in all three models. -Supersport 5.5 inch wide rim does not fit to Multistrada or 1098 (reason: hub size ) -Supersport 939 MY2019 and Multistrada 1200 has same rear axle, nut and rear brake disk (same sparepart code) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Is there physical collision between Supersport RIM and Multistrada 1200 swingarm or what is the exact problem? All hub parts are behind brake disk which is same Supersport and Multistrada. I'm still confused.
Which wheel is the original fitment on which bike can be seen in the owner’s manual, most of which for the more recent bikes are available to download from the Ducati.com website. Andy
Yes, supersport 939/950 rim is 5.5 inch wide, and that is reason why I made this thread I studied large/small hub rim differences with pictures by reading this thread: https://www.ducati.ms/threads/making-a-large-hub-wheel-work-with-a-small-hub-swingarm.751875/ Please explain IF Supersport 939/950 has small hub why spare parts listing is exact same as large hub bikes (including MS1200S). Large hub, conical washer (includes Supersport 939 and 950): https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/d...tistrada_1200/Multistrada-1200/WHEELS/3/6/0/3 https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/d...port-939-S/FRONT-x-REAR-WHEELS/494/1208/0/494 https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ducati-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/71411352AA Small hub, conical whasher: https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/d...motard-939/FRONT-x-REAR-WHEELS/281/2308/0/281 https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ducati-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/71410271A
Easiest and fastest way to check all large hub models could be this link: https://www.desmo-racing.com/en/duc...ront-30mm-and-rear-55mm-xml-363_423-3657.html Supersport 939/950 is the only (?) model with 5.5 inch wide rim?
I don’t think that list is 100% reliable. It indicates that 848EVO has a large hub, which is not correct. I would therefore not rely on it as a definitive list.
950 Supersport has the “big hub” with 55mm nut. It’s the only one I’m aware of with 5.5” rim. Don’t have info in front of me, but I’d suspect the 939 is the same, defo on a 55mm nut.
Could have sworn our Supersport was a small hub but clearly not. Wrong again . So, there is the OP's answer. Andy
