ok, so not sure how old my battery is on the 749 so may treat it to a new one ,any particular type/size /make?
Odyssey PC680 is what I’m looking at for my ‘97 900ss Recommended by @Desmoquattro Good CCA and an AGM but in not fully convinced it’ll fit being slightly taller and wider.
No will have to measure , thought a 749 battery would be a standard size Was going to get a high crank current
I’ve been looking for a while and like you want the best CCA ( cold cranking amps) I can find. The Odyssey P690 reads well but the terminal connections are slightly different from my current yuasa lead/acid original one and it’s slightly taller which could clash with the tank.
Does it matter if you get AGM or gel or lithium. Are all compatible with the electrics ? Was hope it was just code or number for the type , like on cars
Yuasa YT12B-BS is the stock battery. There’s no wiggle room on the 749, so a bigger battery, if ever so slightly, won’t fit. It’s also on its side, so make sure whatever you get is ok for that orientation. Some batteries aren’t, even though they are “sealed”. Li-on battery would require reg/rec swap. I’m sure someone may have done it, but it’s not something I’ve seen yet.
Cheers just found a ATOM battery gel yt12-bs , 5 year warranty any orientation £37 hoping it’s ok for the bike
