I have one of these amber popping up on my MS Rally screen every time I turn the ignition on, started last week. She's just turned a year old with about 8K miles. Questions: Is this normal? It was my understanding that the MS V4 range had a large service interval of about 24k miles IIRC? Should I be worried? If it is just a standard service what does it entail? I've just done the oil and filters myself so I don't really want to stump up for that again. If I don't get it done does it void my warranty? Is it just a scam for the dealers to make some coin off of me?! Cheers in advance folks, BTD
A service reminder that is standard on all modern Ducatis which won’t go away until reset. Whether an aftermarket electronics kit like OBStar, will reset the reminder or not, I don’t know. If not, it’s a dealer only operation who, because you have done your own servicing, is likely charge for or decline outright. This is one the downsides of doing your own maintenance. Andy
The service intervals on the V4s multi is 9000 miles or 2 years, which ever comes first. But it also requires an inspection service ( a proper rip off) every year. Looks like your warning light is for the annual inspection. Needs done to keep the warranty. As your bike has done 8000 miles, it will need the 9000 mile service. Cost is around £270
The inspection service is just that really. Torque checks, visuals, etc. chain lube and adjust. Nothing too big. It serves well for getting the software up to date and application of any technical updates. It books at 30 minutes, so it’s not going to break the bank.
Cheers, and heres me just blew 60 notes on the oil and filters and Iv'e barely done 200 mls; typical!
Just fyi . I do all my servicing , (mts 1200s 55,000 mile)the service display always goes away after a while if you wait long enough.
