Afternoon all Would anyone know the code for the Yuasa battery above? Mine is the ‘94 900ss and came with a Bosch M6 AGM which was the wrong size but served well. I have a motobatt on the wife’s M900 which seem to serve well although I’m increasingly hearing they don’t appear to be as good as they once were. Any recommendations from where to buy from would be appreciated too. many thanks……. Ady
Just bought a replacement battery from Tayna for my Freelander. They gave excellent service. However the Freelander battery was a £110 good quality varta battery, that I struggled to lift into the engine bay. Why are the very much smaller motorcycle batteries at £70, so expensive in comparison??
As far as I'm aware, a Yuasa YB16AL-A2 Yumicron battery was the original fitment on a 1990's 900ss, but it isn't a sealed or AGM battery, it's an 'old fashioned' lead acid battery that can be topped up as required. Nowt wrong with that on a 900ss imho. Not sure if there's an AGM/sealed equivalent with the same dimensions or amp hours, although I haven't really looked.

Odyssey batteries are the dogs danglies imo. Bit late for your post, but thought I would add my opinion for the archive.
Looking at one of these at the moment, and tempted by the performance (PC680) ? Looking at the specifications it seems to be slightly taller and wider than the original Yuasa one Did you experience any difficulties when fitting it? Also the terminals look to be recessed and not the usual block type, do they accept the cables ok?
Yes, it's the 680. They fit just fine, but are not the exact same size. I'm on my second. I know no-one better than me at killing batteries, so I can say happily that these have lasted very well. They have massive cranking power and hold charge brilliantly. The terminals I feel are better, you just stack your cable terminals for everything on top of each other and use a longer screw if needed. Not light, not Lithium, they are lead acid, but way better than Motobatt, I've had loads and they have never lasted long. Yuasa is a very good battery too. Nothing that I have used beats the Odessey though.
What a difference! Starts with massive enthusiasm. I had to alter the shape of the terminals slightly and use longer bolts to secure all the gubbins but it’s so much better than the previous battery.
