yeah, that was a class ride, absolutely. He’s 29 though so realistically it’s win the Moto 2 championship and go to Superbike on the Marc VDS Ducati
Easily got 6 years ahead of him. And without wanting to “pull anyone’s chain” I’d rather have a moto2 title than a wsbk one.
That was entertaining! ..and well done Dixon. Chaos explained https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1...-cause-cota-motogp-start-chaos-late-bike-swap
Solid ride in the conditions, just what we needed in terms of an actual championship too However, saw the headline somewhere this morning saying "Peco back to his best" - but lets be honest, in the dry it was clear he would of been 3rd again so think they are just hyping. Fingers crossed though this gives him a boost and we have a 3 horse race
I agree they are over hyping Peco hugely! He had to stay on the bike, but in tbe dry he was still 0.5 off Marquez on race pace, so there is a lot of work to do. controversially I’m going to say those saying Marquez made a ‘rookie error’ know nothing about motorcycle racing, I don’t know a lot but I know that these guys are playing with inches of tarmac, watch Hodgsons analysis, he’s within an inch or so of the line he took for the previous 5 laps, I don’t know about you guys but threading corners together like that from left to right at 80mph and being within 1 inch, I’d be pretty happy with that, I’m lucky if I get within the same 2ft each time I get to a corner, like most of us. it doesn’t diminish that he made a mistake but I think that will be one of only a few this year, and Peco and Martin made a few last year, they are on the limit.
I’m a very average track day bloke that likes to play on his motorbike. MM had a lapse of concentration right there. If the paint’s damp or even if you think the paint may be damp, you stay the fuck away from it. End of. MM took a foot of kerb at lean… down you go…
The previous lap he was inch perfect staying on the tarmac. The accuracy these guys have with their lines is amazing. When he crashed he was fully riding the paint… tra…
Alex leading without a win. Mir, was it 2020? Won the championship with only one top step finish. Points make championships. Only takes a smallish fall and a fracture to miss several races, so while Marc still looks odds on with his uncanny speed, its not a given. Alex and Pecco are both collecting points and yesterday they reaped the reward of not pushing beyond their limits. Marc is/was his own worst enemy sometimes, he only understands being 1st, collecting points for other positions is not in his mentality and every position gained is worth risking everything for. Yesterday he just pushed his luck too far. Maybe karma for also pushing to the boundary with the rules pre-race. He was still head and shoulders over everyone else this weekend. Next circuit will be really interesting, Baggy likes it and does well, Marc normally not. Acid test I think for the rest of the season. Pleased to see Digi going well after injury problems, another quality rider. Hope Martin is back at the next one, and that he gels quickly with that bike. Too many Ducati at the front.
Why did I have it in my head that Mir won the title without winning a race? Did he win after the title had been wrapped up…
So he won the 3rd last race of the season at Valencia , won the title at the next round also at Valencia then dnf’d the final round in Portugal. What a shit year that was (Covid not helping ofc), funny how it fogs your memory.
Pecco beat Alex. That should should show the pesky No 73 who's boss. ! Marc Marquez fell off twice during the weekend and almost came off another once during the Sprint Race. That is more his style isn't it - to fall off a couple of times during a race weekend. I saw other riders touch the paint during the race, even in the same spot where Marc Marquez came off. He is very lucky to escape the weekend with his scaphoid bone in one piece !
