Stripped my M1100S to get at the belts. Removed old belts. Put new Exactfit ones on and tensioned them to ~100Hz. Came in for dinner. Putting everything back together tomorrow.
Attained 50yr-old Triumph Nirvana when no drips dripped after my latest gasket & Threebond effort Oh, and Threebond 1215 definitely has an expiration date. My old tube - maybe 2yrs old - produced oily gunk as I started this exercise, so I got more and all was well...
Took my Nightstorm on a 300 mile round trip to Exeter to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary, not an exciting ride but always good to give it a run out
Usual pre-season service (just fluids this time) and discovered I had no spare washers... impossible to find on a Sunday I discovered :-(
After my muddy adventures yesterday the GG no longer had functioning indicators so I cleaned everything up and ended up with a pair of illuminated flashers on the offside and one illuminated bulb which didn’t flash at the front nearside and one non-illuminated bulb at the rear. Also gave the chain and sprockets a good clean and lube.
Fitted a new S22 to the rear of the Mt09 god they don’t half hang on to the bead, an hour to break the bead and 20 minutes to change the tyre over.
Recently agreed to sell the NC29 Gullarm which needs extricating from the dining room and playing musical bikes. The Gullarm is now in the garage, the R6 which was in the utility room is now in the dining room with the Multistrada 1200 and the ‘79 Norton Commando which was in the garage, is now in the utility room. Think I might have sold the R6 and have definitely made my mind up to sell the Multistrada which means I get the dining room back Andy
Was the NC29 yours Andy? Or your girlfriends? I can’t imagine you fitting too well on one. I found one small and am a good few inches shorter than you. Cracking little bikes though!
Mad, romantic fool that I am, the bike was a present from me to her so she could ride with me on track days I bought it from a club racer who used it for back up if his CBR600RR let him down It’s got trick forks and a CBR600RR rear shock. It has been a great track slag but she was over riding it so bought an EB5 R6. The bikes gone to a 16 year old bike mechanic apprentice who wants to start track riding. Andy
Changed the oil ‘n’ filter on the SF1098S, strange almost a litre left over in the 4 litre bottle. Seems to be correct between the two levels ?
Built a new loom for my tracker and relocated it in a better, hidden, location. The new loom is discrete and sheathed in the woven black plastic, same as the OEM electrics, the right length for the location and to all intents and purposes invisible amongst the other wiring on the bike. All connections hidden. Pleased with the result, far better than the under-seat botch job that the dealer made.
