Omg Pulled From Bsb

  1. As on. bsb Facebook and confirmed on their own page. Seems financial woes have made them withdraw. And not an AF joke

  2. Real shame for all concerned, and us as spectators

  3. Is the issue with OMG or Grilla ? The Grilla web site is still up but for an energy drink company that no-one I know outside the BSB has heard of and it seems you can only buy their energy drinks in the UK from Amazon, they have a lot of sponsorship deals and I mean a lot of different sports clubs at various levels. Smacks of Paul Bird’s deal with BeerMonster. Devastating for the BSB and the riders and their families. Andy

  4. Sad loss for fans, but clearly there were some dubious practices going on.
A company that sells virtually no product they are advertising, sponsoring a BSB team.
My guess is that the financial benefits sponsorship gave the owners of OMG (whatever it was), no longer make it attractive.

https://www.omgdrink.com/ Anyone ever bought this or seen it for sale?

  5. RICH energy is another….was that OMG previous sponsor?

  6. I thought they had a Vape sponsor in ‘23 or was that a different team  Andy

  7. From their site

  8. See above. Rich spent tens of millions in sponsorship yet seemed to sell about a dozen cans on Amazon.

    Modern day laundrettes… ;)

  9. I can see the BSB superbike class finishing soon, just so expensive to turn out a bike . Superstock class only .

  10. Ironically the controls put in place probably make it more, not less, expensive

  11. I imagine it will mirror WsB and we’ll see super sport as the premier class.

  12. All aboard the 899 lol.

  13. Deffo something very very dodgy going on here…

it’s clearly far too complicated for me, but for example….

    - why do they have to use 98 octane panta fuel that’s £8 a litre?

    - are the £20k Ohlins forks (per set) providing closer racing, or could superstock with fork kits be absolutely fine?

    - do they need £10k swingarms?

    - does a sport bike team HAVE to run homologated handlebar switches? Why can’t a team on a budget run the ones better teams have thrown away? Just one small example of the ridiculous cost even for tiny teams

    - do the bikes need to have 240hp or could they be electronically balanced standard ish bikes like Supersport.

basically it’s hard to see where superbikes stack up in terms of a premier class now, it probably needs to go to Supersport new gen

  14. When race superbikes started having headlights painted onto them in order to resemble the road superbikes that they no longer were, the concept was lost, you feel.
