  1. Hi
What is this capped connector for?

And here with the cap removed.

Only 2 wires going into it.

Also, where do I find the diagnostic socket/plug?

    Cheers

  3. Thanks Chris

Could you point me in the direction of a cable/unit for this?

The ones I have seen have mentioned 3 or 4 pin sockets and do not resemble that on the bike.

    Cheers

  4. Cable Kit ordered from LonElec.

Is there any reason not to extend that port to underneath the rear seat?

    Has anyone done it?

    Cheers

  5. I built a diagnostic port extender using 2 core cable and a male/female Superseal connector. The blanking cap was fitted to the extension.I also had a battery charging lead for my Optimate. Both were accessible without having to take the fairing off. I modified the fly leads on the Fiat adaptor to a plug that matched the battery charging lead. This meant I could do both diagnostic and reflashing work on the bike.

    You can buy them, https://www.ebay.com/itm/235579218017

  6. That is very helpful, thank you.
I fitted an Optimate lead and that does not require the removal of the fairing, so you've made me realise that I don't have to extend as far as the seat.
Ordered a Superseal 3 Way Male & Female Kit from ebay £3.29.

    Cheers

  7. You can still use the crocodile clips with the Optimate connector. Identify the +12v output and connect the red crocodile clip to it. Do not use the -ve connector on the Optimate connector. Instead, connect the black fly lead to a good earth on the engine or frame. By doing this you will never accidentally invert the fly lead connections and damage the ECU. Also use this process when connecting the fly leads direct to the battery. Never, ever connect the black fly lead to the battery. Always to a good earth on the engine or frame.
