  4. Just tried to let my bike insurance broker about my car being written off and they said they were not interested ……… until renewal time which is a bit ominous. Andy

  5. My car insurance is due renewal in a couple of weeks, steeling myself to have a discussion about my bike accident last year... Outcome is going to be a significant hike in cost I fear.

  6. Installed new spark plugs and eldor coils to the hyper. Took about half an hour to get the tank off, made a lot easier if you remove the seatlock panel, as I read somewhere on the forum. Thank god for ducati tool bag, as i didnt have the right size deepwell socket 20250402_185114.jpg 20250402_165310.jpg 20250402_171525.jpg 20250402_171608.jpg
Both spark plugs exactly the same. Now I did open the air box up a bit with the star.ace kit, removed cat from exhaust as well as remove o2 sensors, install the pairs block off plates and ran the bike like that for a little while before getting it mapped.

So as I'm doing valves, belts yada yada in about 2k miles I'll re check the new spark plugs to see how they are

  10. Gave up and ordered a new battery for the 750ss. Could not find anyone to supply acid for the new but dry one I have. Tried some acid out of an old battery, but did a couple of tests at work and it’s got so much shit in it I would not expect lifespan to be decent and I hate unreliability. Gone for a decent AGM one in the end.

  11. Jammy bastard. I love those boots. I have a pair of Puma Desmos in white and one in black, but they're knackered now and they were discontinued ages ago.

Also, are those titanium toe-sliders? :imp::cool:

  12. Went to go out on the dirt bike but it wouldn't (kick)start and my leg eventually ran out of steam, as did my patience. It was fine on Sunday. Very annoying. :triumph:

  13. Flash Gordon called . He wants his boots back! Ps I’d beware of aged plastic on boots as I’ve seen old A’star Tech boots fall apart due plastic deterioration. These were lightly used boots just stored in a dark cupboard for a number of years , & literally fell apart on an easy road ride, which was abandoned due to risk of having to rely on socks as primary protection.

  14. Good point. I was aware of that issue with helmets, but hadn’t thought about it re: boots.

  15. Cheers Macca, I’ve taken out for 2 rides now (150 miles) I’ve seen a small crack on the shifter pad, everywhere else is good, but I will monitor! Thanks!

  16. Broke my arm at Cadwell 2 weeks ago & haven't wasted time,
It's only just occurred to me what's missing on my moded 900ss ie, that's just been fitted with st2 barrels.

  17. You can come and do mine next as some fool sprayed the engine black but didn’t prep it properly and/or used the wrong type or paint as it’s all peeling off

    Sorry about your arm. GWS

  18. Bought the polishing kit about 20 years ago & must have used it once before.
Now back in use & needing a new drill

It's amazing what difference cold tyres make when you're first to be let loose
    And thank you
