  1. I’m down there in a few weeks on the boat. What’s the cafe like for food?

  2. Very good.

The other place that I go to is a bit of a walk away in Frampton-on-Severn - Ley Bistro, I think they also do a Sunday Roast.

Actually quite a journey beset with problems, nearly hit houses on take off, wind driven generator failed so lost electrical power, so lost radio, heated clothing, 16 hours of freezing weather, lost control and nearly crashed into sea (twice), thought they were landing in a field but turned out it was a bog.

  4. Just received confirmation my ‘older person’s’ bus pass application has been approved by Hampshire County Council. Have to say I’m pleasantly surprised (and a bit relieved) as they are one of the UK County Councils on the verge of bankruptcy. Andy

  5. Free all expenses paid trip to see MTV At work

Unfortunately not the music channel :sob:

Not a good sign when the fully loaded truck comes up with these warnings on the dash

  6. I think that central gubment funds the local authorities for this, so it looks local but is actually national. Hence being able to use it throughout England (only).

  7. Been down the boat yard with the chainsaw to get a load of logs they said I could have.

  8. So today is the last day before I move to Northumberland tomorrow (I've got a license to occupy my old house until 7th April), so it's been full on tidying/cleaning, packing the cars with fragile stuff before the removal men rock up in the morning.

This move had better be worth it ;)

  12. Tried to make sense of the latest missives from HMRC. I have an income & a works pension, both PAYE with income tax deducted at source, and apparently I've underpaid? Sounds more like you've undercollected to me.

  13. Have they said by how much ? I can whip up a calculation that should make it easy for you to check if you know what your income for the tax year to 04/04/25 and what tax you have paid. Andy

  14. £1,351.80, and something about owing £916 from a previous year; I don't know if the £916 is part of or in addition to the £1,351.80.

I'll have to have a look and see what I've got Andy; if I can find it all I'll PM you, thank you.

  15. No problem. I’m guessing you don’t have a self assessment account. Andy

  16. Went to RAf Cosford museum with my mate today. Last went about 30 years ago on my GSXR1100 Katana. Weather was amazing for April. Only about 100 mile round trip but an interesting route. Slightly hairy moment on a back road with seriously dodgy camber and LOTS of Gravel, and was chased by a dog that completely ignored my mates Suzuki.
