Insured the Versys 650, time for the first proper ride since I rebuilt it Got Birmingham on Saturday morning, from Hinckley, then Warsop on the afternoon
I realised that starter on 749/1000DS subtly different to earlier type so reluctantly ordered new from Italy, but still less than half O.M. price, and under "Customs" import Tax threshold.
Up early for my Hyper MOT today. Raining & shitty roads after a week of unbroken sunshine Weather's looking good for the next few days though
Very small bike thing....i watched this last night on YouTube. Brilliant film lost count of how many times ive watched it...but this was interesting... ff to 15 mins if you want to....Hypermotards used for the bike sequence...
I'm beyond envious. Is that an Aprilla chassis? How come you went for the 500 rather than the 587? Please, PLEASE do a thread about the project.
Gasped at the price of the E5 as I filled the R1200S nr Cheltenham this afternoon - £1.59 / litre! Headline price for E10 around £1.32
Despite a firmware update, and trying to reset it a dozen times, it looks like my Sena SRL Mesh is toast. Bloody annoying, as my Interphone Tour which is about 5 years older still works perfectly. I just hope it’s still under warranty, as I bought it in July 2022.
The warranty is 3 years, not entirely sure but you might need evidence of purchase. They replaced Carole’s S50 despite it not being covered for water damage. Andy
OK, that’s a relief, cheers Andy. I’ve been in contact with Infinity, they have the original receipt, so I’ll get them to sort it.
Waved good by to the NC29 Gullarm Sorry to see the bike go, it has been a great track hack but it’s not been ridden for 4 years and it’s gone to a keen youngster as his first track bike Andy
Bought and fitted stainless calliper bolts from ProBolt today, they're only just down the road in Tewkesbury. Arrived there to discover that the left hand fairing side panel had blown off the bike on the M5. Looks like the lower securing screw must have been loose, dropped out and then the wind must have gotten under it and snap, it was gone. The one other locating screw and a small arm off the back the panel that it was screwed into remained. Bugger, I had replaced it yesterday morning after some work and must have forgotten to tighten it, Doh! Expensive mistake, about £260 in parts. Also the one decal, small Italian flag, comes separately. On the other remaining side this has top coat over it so I looks like I'll have to have that done too. Dropped in at Moto-Vation on the way back and booked the Desmo service for mid July. I'll be a thousand miles over by then but not going to have it done before this years trip, 1500 miles shy of the required 18640. It had new belts, oil and filter in October.
