Has anyone fitted these with the Ducati spotlights? https://wunderlich-adventure.de/en/...lC_d-cCt9X4P9kngBoxBPXFVyQtrVZD6Xpmzb1nbH-qJp
Yes - no problems, riding lights were fitted from new and I added the Wunderlich bars. No issues as the lights are on the rad mounts and above where the Wunderlich bars fit.
GB Racing Covers for the Case as well , the bars work for low drops but add covers will reduce the damage from a low side . I have the Ducati Full Bars as they protect more and with the covers will give you a bigger chance of forward travel.
I’ve never been a fan of the ‘full’ crash bars, just can’t get past the look of them. Having just got the bike back from a low speed spill last month (I was hit from behind by a van) I thought a bit more protection might help. The damage to the bike was largely cosmetic and may have been similar even with these fitted. I was still able to ride the bike (just the cruise control stopped working due to a bent rear brake lever). Luckily I was fine as we were going on holiday 3 days later (my wife was not impressed!)
So this is the damage my bike had with the engine bars fiitted. You can see similar contact points, but the bars did their job, and yes mine are fitted with OEM lights. (Lights didn't get damaged). Please to say I was able to replace all the broken bits ..
BTW - I thought it was only the plastic engine bar slider that got damaged - on closer inspection, I could see the mount was bent at the point it attaches to the engine case. I asked Wunderlich about this, and this is by design. The bar mounts are meant to have some give to avoid transmitting all the crash force to the engine itself in the event of an accident. They offer 20% discount for re-buying after an accident. See here for more details of when I dropped it.
At least I wasn’t injured, very slow speed crash, maybe 20mph. The van driver clipped my leg as he was heading for the exit before mine (both on the inside lane of the roundabout). They paid for all the parts and labour so no insurance claim (£2,000)
Not a fan of the usual scaffolding effect crash bars, but I know they'll offer more protection, really impressed how the Wunderlich bars look, so have ordered some. Got them from Nippy Normans, wunderlich-engine-bars-ducati-multistrada-2023-on-black they are in the UK so perhaps a bit easier than getting from Germany if anybody is after some.
