I, and especially my dog mad daughters, used to love the Discover Dogs section, worth the price of admission on its own.
We had flowers and a card delivered today from Ridgeback Rescue for Roger, I read the card and started roaring. Lovely sentiment that they thought of us though.
Has anyone used Pawable before? It’s a collagen powder that’s supposed to help *old dog joints and has other benefits I wasn’t too concerned about. My Kenny’s been on it for the last 2 weeks and although he still hobbles from his op, it’s transformed him (gradually) to the point he’ll jog in front of me on walks now instead of having to be coaxed with a tennis ball from 50 yards behind. We’re only on our first month which was £30 definitely going again. https://pawable.co.uk/products/coll...MI-tOsqPbcjAMVcJhQBh1YMg_hEAAYASAAEgJo__D_BwE
I think a cat has adopted us.. Lived here for just over 3 years and the cat always popped into the garden here and there, very friendly but looked skinny. Always refused food and thought nothing of it. Now sits in our garden every day for most of it. Covered in fleas, so treated. Very skinny, now being fed. And didnt seem to groom at all. This photo is the cat in a much better state then a few weeks ago. Maybe we should take the cat to the vets to check for a chip perhaps.
It’s clear the cat wants to be with you and would be better off with you. Just keep it. There, hope that eases your conscience for you
One of my neighbours cats decided it wanted to live a few doors down. My neighbours went and got it at least 10 times, I had several chats with them before the penny dropped that if a cat decides it wants to go somewhere else, it will! They have had cats for years and never had the issue and they just couldn't understand why, there was no reason to think they weren't good cat owners from what I can see but it just wanted to be at the other house.
Yer I can understand that. We had a similar situation when I was a kid. Neighbours cat kept coming to ours. Done the same thing of taking it back, but always came to us, so we kept the cat.
Sorry, not used it so can't comment on efficacy. But we do give each of our 5 a couple of daily 'squirts' of Salmon oil (Omega 3) in their food. Been doing that for years and even our old girls can still run like puppies, even immediately after waking up. Of course that could be just because of good genetics, but I am still convinced the oil has long term benefits. We also give them Vetzyme tablets each day.
the Mr's (ex veterinary nurse) used to use MSM powder on one of our dogs. it was a large wolf breed when she got on a bit. totally transformed it and we got a good extra several years of mobility out of her. i think it was originally developed for horses but don't quote me on that. she bought the stuff for horses and just scaled the dosage down to make it cheaper to use. i believe humans are using it now too.
Interesting The basic science sounds reasonable. I'm going to research this further. Thanks for the heads-up
