Hi all, I currently have a 2021 V4S Travel and Radar and the chance has come up that I can get a Brand new pre reg Pikes Peak 2025 model with 0 miles on the clock for 3 grand cheaper - I'm looking at trading mine in and have been offered £12500 which I'm happy with My question is to anyone who has already bought one how do they find it and if they have the Akrapovic Race system do you get the odd bang on the upshift as I've heard they (Ducati) mapped this out of the older Pikes Peak Regards
Picked up my '25 PP in March with full system. I can 100% confirm it pops and bangs, even during running in type throttle use.
If you don't mind me asking what sort of price was the Full system and does the bike feel much different with it than stock
Dam expensive , think around the £2500 fited , is it worth it , sounds good performs well but took mine off due to insurance woes and also the wife . Standard the bike runs great , stealth is good now with all the restrictions we have going for the BHP tune instead , they have great gains.
I'm in the US (outside of California), and when I bought my '22 V4 PP, I went directly to Omnia Racing to purchase the Race Ti exhaust: https://www.omniaracing.net/impiant...ati-multistrada-v4v4s-2021-2024-p-225099.html I supplied Omnia my VIN, and they put my VIN into the Ducati system (whatever that means). When I received the exhaust, I made an appointment with my dealer, and they installed the exhaust and verified the VIN was "in the system", and they proceeded to flash the ECU with the UpMap. It was the only way I could maintain my Ducati warranty, as the UpMap is an approved flash to the stock ECU. Without the catalyst, the exhaust has a much better sound, and I still have the db-killer installed. The UpMap fattens up the midrange torque a bit, and the throttle is more responsive, so overall, it was worth it.
I'm currently over in Denmark for work. I'll see if I can grab a recording when I get back, but I have a weekend away more or less straight away. The system was around £2500 and they installed it out of the crate with no additional charge. I purchased it last year as the dealer stated quite clearly that Ducati would shove their prices up and I can see it is now at £3k. It does seem to have better throttle response, definitely sounds better, but not offensive. In fact when riding the noise all seems to go straight out of the back so not a problem at all. As I say though, not really had a chance to push it.
The trouble with the BHP tune is that it invalidates the Ducati warranty, so the only way to keep your warranty is to do nothing to the bike. Or get a full system.
I know what you are saying, but I will still clarify it... Your VIN in the DDS allows the Akra map(not UpMap) to be installed. UpMap is a separate device you would have to buy, then you can download and install various maps depending on bike config...exhaust, filter. This has nothing to do with Ducati the company or approved maps. If they used an UpMap, you can bet anything they(Ducati) can attribute to the unapproved map, they will deny that warranty. The Ducati supplied Akra map will keep your warranty intact.
Or negate your insurance running a closed track ( non legal ) system . Its the pilot not the exhaust But getting back to reality , run a full system , have a really bad crash , you could loose all , BHP tune , an engine rebuild , cheap...... I have tried all to get a realistic insurance cover for the full system . You cant , yes you can , not say the whole truth like its a dealer fitted part with appropriate part numbers etc etc etc , but when you have caused a big incident with (fatalities ) you will loose at lot more. So again , engines are cheap , livelihood ...Irreplaceable..... Sorry but Truth
But again its not for road use . You sign a waiver , so its in your court ...or The Courts .. I would rather throw 20K away than the option of a bad court case and loose all
Not where I live. I didn't sign a waiver for the Pani V4S, StreetFighter V4S or the V4 Pikes Peak... full race exhaust on all. Totalled my Panigale, insurance inspector didn't care one bit. He asked my a spreadsheet with part name, part number and my cost... fully paid out with no questions asked
I take that was a claim for the bike not for a fatal crash , which is my point ...You roll the dice. Shit just realised your in TRumpMusk Land lol
It will completely invalidate your insurance , but you sound good . I decided to take that risk away.
But your thinking about it , and ran one before .. and never really consolidated your insurance. A tune is not illegal. I will leave it there . We take our chances .
My insurance company knew about the full system, it was on my policy as a Ducati Race Exhaust system with the part number in black and white. The only reason I’m thinking about it is because the bike is bat shit crazy without it, and I’m trying to decide whether it needs another £3k throwing at it or not. I’ve already spoken to my insurance company yesterday, they’ve agreed again to insure the bike with it, so that isn’t a deciding factor.
No worries, it is a UK based forum afterall. And to make it worse, I am in Texas. The only good thing is the lack of oversight on vehicles. They just removed our safety inspection requirements.
